Buy A Coke

The New Seekers – Buy The World A Coke 1971

The New Seekers – Little Bit Of Sunshine 1971

The New Seekers – It’s The Real Thing 1971

The mummies and daddies of adverts-turned-hit-singles, The New Seekers. If it wasn’t for The New Seekers we might never have had that “This must be underwater love” shit.

This is a great looking record if you ask me. It’s on Coca Cola Records and every track is exactly 60 seconds long. “This record is not to be played on the air” cos they had to pay for that. See it’s not REAL music.

I’m a Pepsi man, mainly because its the choice of a new generation.

I know what you’re thinking. Your’e thinking The Jackson Five are all well and good but imagine if there was a Pepsi ad featuring the late but apparently-not-murdered Pakistan cricket coach Bob Woolmer…

Huh?

Oh and while I’m at it, here’s another Michael one…

“Looking for me?”

Pepsi wins. (Must not make jokes about kids in Mike’s dressing room)

I’m partial to EW&F in this Panasonic ad:

It’s always been a minor dream of mine, someday in my life, to have played a minor but memorably embarassing role in a commercial of similar “quality” as this. Where is Mr. “Wow! Earth Wind & Fire!” now? I can but wonder…

Tauri, how about selling Islas to some mineral water company? ;-)

Peace.

Hmmmm.

Google shows no soft drink Isley adverts…however wikipedia tells me that Jimi Hendrix was once in the Isley Brothers, is this true??

No but he did tour with them once and played guitar on a single “Testify” circa 65 and a few unreleased cuts that they then packaged as an album and released around about 1972. Folks say that Ernie Isley took his guitar style from Hendrix but it seems a bit of a moot point since everyone in the world also took their style from Hendrix. The only non-Isley member of the Isleys ever was Chris Jasper and he was an Isley Brother-In-Law anyway.

Only if the ad will include a shot of me saying, “Wow! Aquafina!” :D

I’d buy that for about ten dollars.

You should license it to a Scottish water company. Like “Wow! Highland Spring!” or “Wow! BALYGOWAN!”.

One day you will realise that Pepsi is not for you because Coke is the REAL THING. Till then – cheers!

Pepsi is FOR ME. Thats the whole point. Today I made the Tescoman move an entire shelf of Pepsi Max bottles because they’d hidden the proper Pepsi bottles behind them.

But Pepsi Maz is still Pepsi….it’s not like they hid the Pepsi behind coke right? That would be worse.
